Absentee Voting Underway for Va. General Election

Absentee voting has begun in Virginia for the Nov. 3 general election.

Registered voters must meet one of 19 eligibility requirements to vote absentee by mail or in person. Requests for absentee ballots must be submitted to the voter’s local registration office by Oct. 27 to vote in the Nov. 3 election. In-person absentee ballots can be cast up to Oct. 31.

Voters have until 7 p.m. election day to return their completed absentee ballots.

Virginia law requires voters to present a photo ID when voting in person.
