A funeral was held Monday for a baby girl abandoned in Prince George's County last month.

Homicide detectives attend the funeral for Maria Del Pilar, a newborn girl who died after being abandoned last month.

No family attended the service for Maria Del Pilar, but homicide detectives gathered at Resurrection Cemetery to mourn her loss.

Maria was found in a field off New Hampshire Avenue in Takoma Park. She was just hours old when she died.

All this is a result of allowing our growing boys and girls to have pre-marital relationships. Fault of no one by parents themselves. I don't when will people learn.

Yes, it is sad to hear this and it brings tears to the eyes, but God knows what to do for this little angel. And not to forget, as heart broken as it is, let us keep the mother in prayer.
