An ATM heist went wrong for a would-be thief in Mt. Airy, Md., Tuesday night.

Someone apparently tried to take an entire cash machine from a drive-through lane at the Bank of America branch on East Ridgeville Boulevard.

The front of the ATM was found ripped open Wednesday morning. No equipment was stolen, according to Maryland State Police.

Investigators have not said if any cash was taken from inside the ATM.

No arrests have been made.
