Walk To Work Turns Violent in Leesburg

A woman attacked in Leesburg

Leesburg police are trying to get the word out about an attack before another one happens.

Detectives said they received a call about an assault Thursday that happened southwest of the Washington and Old Dominion Bike Trail and Lawson Road.

A woman from Leesburg was walking to work when she noticed that she was being followed. Police said that man then pushed her into a wooded area north of Beauregard Drive and pulled a knife on her.

Police said the man then ran away. Officers did not say how badly the woman was hurt.

The suspect was described as a white male, 5’7” to 5’10”, with a thin build, wearing tan cargo pants, a brown jacket, a tan hat and brown shoes.
