A. Prophet's Prophecy — Too Late for Woman, Son

Antonio Prophet sought in brutal double slaying

A self-published author from Fairfax County is on the run and wanted for the savage homicides of a mother and son in West Virginia. The only potential witness is too young to speak, let alone articulate what horrors he may have seen.

The bodies of 22-year-old Angela Devonshire and her 3-year-old son, Andre White, were found Sunday in a burned out home near Gerrardstown, W.Va.

Autopsy results have yet to be released, but authorities said Devonshire’s throat may have been cut and that the fire was intentionally set.

An infant boy who was found alive and uninjured outside the burning home. It’s not clear how he got there, said Berkeley County Sheriff’s Lt. Gary Harmison.

Police are searching for Antonio Prophet, 34. He’s believed to be from the Lorton area. He’d been dating Devonshire for about two weeks, Harmison said.

Prophet has been charged with murder. Investigators believe he was at the house before the fire, and they say the motive may have been money.

According to an officer’s statement accompanying the arrest warrant, an unidentified woman called investigators and said Prophet told her he killed Devonshire and her son because Devonshire owed him money.

According to Prophet’s business card, he is the author of a self-published novel, "Enter The Fire: Seven Days in the Life." The paperback is available for order from Amazon.com for $27.95. The novel summary describes the protagonist as a drug kingpin and ruthless killer who is also a true philanthropist and community leader.

On his MySpace profile, Prophet wrote that he is laid back, goal-oriented and ambitious.

"I want it all, and willing to work for it," Prophet wrote. "So either run with me or run from me!"

A warning that may have come too late for Angela Devonshire.
