A 9-year-old boy was robbed of a cellphone in Laurel, Md., Friday afternoon, police said.
The boy was walking near the intersection of Red Clay Road and Old Annapolis Road when a male believed to be in his late teens approached him and asked for the time, Anne Arundel County police said.
When the boy took out his cellphone to check the time, the assailant grabbed the phone.
The boy struggled with the assailant, trying not to let go, but ultimately lost his grip on the phone and fell to the ground, police said.
Police searched the area but weren't able to find a suspect.
