$8,500 Charged to Stolen Credit Cards at Target in 8 Minutes

Two women purchased more than $8,500 worth of gift cards in eight minutes with stolen credit cards at a Target in Rockville, Maryland.

The victim only learned she’d lost the cards when she received text alerts about expensive purchases. The 39-year-old woman was at dinner with her husband when she received a text message about a big purchase. Seconds later, she got another alert.

The victim checked her purse and realized her wallet was gone. She went to her car and didn’t find it there, either. She figures someone took it somewhere between her home and the restaurant.

Two women caught on security camera charged $4,000 to a Visa card, $4,000 to an American Express card and $530.05 to a MasterCard.
