“68” Vandals Strike Again in Loudoun County

More cars vandalized in Loudoun County

Vandals armed with spray paint have struck again in Loudoun County, Va.

This weekend, at least one vehicle at a Lansdowne apartment complex was sprayed with the number 68. The Loudoun Times reported it was a Toyota truck parked at the entrance of the Camden Lansdowne apartment complex, only a few hundred yards away from the Lansdowne Public Safety Center.

Over the past month, dozens of cars in Sterling and Ashburn have been spray-painted with the mysterious number, police said. Others' cars have had tires slashed and windows smashed.  The vandalism has cost drivers thousands.

Police aren't sure what the number 68 means. They're asking the public for information about its significance.

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said there's no indication the vandalism is gang related.
