67 Cats Rescued From Rescue Center

Animal Control seized dozens of ailing cats from a cat rescue center in Anne Arundel County, Md., Wednesday morning.

Officers removed 67 cats in various medical conditions from Cool Cats Rescue Center in Severna Park. They also found two dead cats.

The raid followed several complaints about the terrible conditions there and concern for the health of the cats.

The cats were taken to the Animal Control facility in Millersville. They’ll be assessed medically and behaviorally to determine what care they need.

Investigation in to possible charges is under way.

“It also highlights the fact that organizations starting with the laudable goal of helping animals can turn into hoarding operations that hurt animals,” County Executive John Leopold said.
