6-Year-Old Apparently Drowned in Loudoun County

Four juveniles apparently drowned in the region since Friday, and it’s just the beginning of swimming season.

News4 has learned that a 6-year-old boy died at an Ashburn home Friday.

Paul Weshten was at an end of school party in the Belmont Country Club community when he wandered outside and somehow wound up in a swimming pool.

Adults at the party started CPR, but it was too late. The child was taken to Inova Loudoun Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A 17-year-old boy was apparently caught by a rip current and was pulled underwater around 2 p.m. Friday, Ocean City authorities said.

Also Friday, an 11-year-old girl disappeared while swimming in the Wicomico River with two adults in Charles County.

And 14-year-old Grace Tamo was trying to learn to swim in the pool at her family's new apartment complex in Silver Spring when she drowned Sunday.
