5 Men Stabbed in Northeast Early Sunday

Police: 3 stabbed in upper body, 1 in surgery

D.C. police temporarily shut down a prominent nightclub in Northeast after a nearby stabbing in which five men were injured early Sunday morning.

The stabbings occurred shortly after 3 a.m. at 2127 Queens Chapel Road NE, near the Stadium Club, investigators said.

It is believed that three of the men stabbed suffered wounds to their torso and upper body. A fourth man was stabbed in the hand, while a fifth was stabbed in the arm. Police said the victims were conscious and breathing and classified their injuries as non-life-threatening, though their exact conditions were not known. Police also confirmed that one of the victims needed surgery.

D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier confirmed to News4 the Stadium Club is shut down for 96 hours.

According to Stadium Club's Twitter feed, it was hosting a party Saturday night featuring Joseline Hernandez, star of the VH1 reality show "Love and Hip-Hop."

Managers at the club said they are cooperating with police.
