Six children suffered minor injuries after their day-care center van collided with a Hummer SUV Tuesday afternoon, Prince George's County authorities said.

The SUV overturned at Enterprise Road and Meadowland Drive in Glenn Dale, and the driver was trapped until firefighters freed him, fire department spokesman Mark Brady said.

The man's injuries were not life-threatening.

Crews transported five children with minor injuries to a hospital, Brady said. Another nine children in the day-care center van were taken to a hospital as a precaution.
