3 Killed, 1 Injured in Odenton Car Crash

A fourth passenger suffered life-threatening injuries

Three people have died following a single-car crash early Sunday morning in Odenton.

The crash happened at around 12:37 a.m. on Piney Orchard Parkway south of Riverscape Road. Investigators say that four people were inside the 2005 Subaru WDX, which was traveling south on the parkway. Anne Arundel County Police say the car left the roadway trying to negotiate a curve, striking a light pole off the right shoulder.

The car kept going after the initial collision, striking one tree on its right rear side before rolling over and striking a second tree roof-first, trapping the occupants. It took police more than half an hour to extricate everyone from the wreckage.

Authorities have confirmed the deaths of the driver, David D'augustine, 22, and two of the passengers, Samuel Schindler, 22, and Katherine Warrington, also 22. All of the deceased were from Odenton. A third passenger, Michael Phillips, 23, of Gambrills, was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore via Medevac. His injuries are described as critical.

Police believe that speeding was the cause of the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
