Police say three children were injured in a rush hour crash in Gaithersburg Friday.

Crews were dispatched to the 8000 block of Snouffer School Road around 4:30 p.m. for a crash. Preliminary investigation shows a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 was traveling westbound on Snouffer School Road when it struck a 1999 Toyota Sienna exiting a parking lot.

Three children aged 12, 11 and 9 were hospitalized. The 9-year-old child was in critical, but stable condition Friday night.

The 12-year-old and 11-year-old suffered minor injuries. The driver of the Toyota was also hospitalized, but has since been released.

The area remained closed for investigation through 10 p.m. Friday.
