2nd Teen Arrested in D.C. Contractor's Death

A second Maryland teenager has been charged as an adult in the slaying of a worker in southeast Washington, authorities said.

Manuel D. Sanchez, 29, of Capitol Heights, Md., was working at a home in the 4600 block of Hillside Road when two suspects approached him and opened fire on May 28, police said. Sanchez died at a hospital.

Officials said they arrested a 16-year-old boy from Capitol Heights on June 2 and charged him as an adult with felony murder. On Wednesday, police arrested another 16-year-old boy at his District Heights, Md., home and charged him as an adult with first-degree murder.

Police spokesman Officer Eric Frost said both teens have criminal records, and at least one of them has some serious offenses.
