$20,000 Worth of Stolen Merchadise Recovered in Md. Home

A Dorchester County, Maryland, man was arrested and more than $20,000 of stolen merchandise was recovered from his home by authorities Friday night.

Maryland State Police said Robert Francis Palmer, 44, of Federalsburg, Maryland, was arrested without incident after a search and seizure warrant was issued for his residence. Authorities found clothing, shoes, kitchen appliances, and a tag sensor remover that belonged to JCPenney.

Investigators said one of their contract drivers was removing merchandise from their trucks since June 2014. As a result, additional measures were put in place to track the thefts.

Palmer is charged with theft $10,000 to $100,000, theft scheme $10,000 to $100,000, and burglary fourth-degree. He was taken before a District Court commissioner for an initial court appearance.
