2 Dead After Collision in Brandywine, Maryland

Two people have died after a crash Wednesday night in Brandywine, Maryland, a Prince George's County Fire and EMS Department representative said.

Maryland State Police say the driver of  a Volvo sedan was trying to cross Route 5 and continue onto Earnshaw Drive when the car was struck by a Chrysler Pacifica traveling northbound on Route 5. The force of the crash pushed the Volvo into a wooded area just off Earnshaw Drive.

Lawrence Jarvis Jr., 60, and Wanda Fauntroy, 53, were pronounced dead at the scene. The occupants of the Chrysler Pacifica are expected to survive their injuries, police said Thursday.
