Two people were killed and a third person was hurt when a truck hit a car in Mount Airy, the Carroll County Sheriff's Office said.
A car driven by 25-year-old Ricky Wean of New Windsor was traveling north on Buffalo Road about 1 a.m. Thursday when it passed another vehicle on a double yellow line, deputies said.
Wean lost control of the car on a curve and was hit by a truck traveling south.
Wean and his passenger, 23-year-old Christopher Goldzwig of Keymar, were pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said. The driver of the truck, 25-year-old Steven Bryant of Laytonsville was taken to Meritus Hospital in Hagerstown with injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening.
The accident is under investigation.
