2 Killed In Anne Arundel Accident

Police in Anne Arundel County are investigating a single-car accident that killed a woman and a 14-year-old boy in Davidsonville late Friday night.

Investigators say that 36-year-old Carrie Lynn Desmond and the 14-year-old, both of the 1500 block of Themes Drive in Davidsonville, were traveling south on Patuxent River Road when their vehicle went off the road at a curve near West Central Avenue (Route 214).

Desmond was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where she was pronounced dead at 6:30 Saturday morning. The 14-year-old, whose name and relation to Desmond has not been released, was taken to Prince George's Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead at 1:15 Saturday afternoon.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
