2 Slashed in Metro Station Fight

Man, woman, hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries

Metro Police are investigating an altercation that led to two people being slashed at the Shaw-Howard University Metro station early Saturday morning.

Investigators say the encounter happened at around 2 a.m. on the station platform when a group of four people got into a verbal argument with a slightly larger group. Authorities say that the first group consisted of three men and one woman, while the second group consisted of between seven and ten people.

At some point, investigators say a man and the woman from the first group received lacerations on their hand and back. Both were taken to a local hospital, though their injuries were not life-threatening.
