Anne Arundel County Fire Department

Firefighters work on extinguishing the fire on Sleepy Hollow Lane in Annapolis Sunday morning.

Fire officials in Anne Arundel County are investigating the cause of a fire that displaced two adults from their Annapolis home.

The fire broke out in the 1900 block of Sleepy Hollow Lane in the Lindamoor Community of Annapolis at around 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Authorities say that the first unit on the scene requested that the fire be made an "all hands" assignment. In all, 44 firefighters were eventually called to the scene.

The blaze was extinguished within the hour. Initial loss estimates came to over $300,000.

The home's occupants are being assisted by the Red Cross. No injuries to either occupants or firefighters were reported.
