One person was arrested and nineteen were transported to hospitals after a woman poured bleach and Pine-Sol on a fellow customer at a Wal-Mart in Arbutus.
The Baltimore County Fire Department said that the store at 3601 Washington Boulevard had to be evacuated for nearly two hours Saturday after the department received reports of people throwing bleach and ammonia at each other.
Baltimore County Police issued a statement Saturday afternoon saying that Theresa Monique Jefferson, 33, of Lakebrook Circle, Maryland, left the store and turned herself in at the Wilkens Precinct, where she was placed under arrest.
Most of the injuries were not serious, though one person was transported to the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University. However, it is unclear just how serious that particular injury is. Baltimore County Police also said that two other people were transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center and that a Wal-Mart employee was among those injured during the assault.
Police say the assault was an assault of an ongoing dispute between Jefferson and one of the victims. Investigators say the victim's current boyfriend has a child in common with Jefferson.
Jefferson is charged with first and second degree assault, theft under $100 and malicious destruction of property. She is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on $350,000 bail.
