16-year-old Shot, Killed in Prince George's County

Prince George's police are investigating the murder of a 16-year-old boy at midnight Sunday.

When they arrived, they found Marcus Antonio Jones, of the 800 block of Swan Creek Road East in Fort Washington, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Jones was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said a preliminary investigation revealed that Jones had walked to a car after leaving a home on Webster Lane. As he approached, an unknown suspect shot Jones and ran away.

Detectives are following up on substantial leads, and are working to identify a suspect and motive in this case, according to a press release from the Prince George's County Police Department.
