16-Year-Old Charged With Arson for Fire at Vacant House in Laurel

A 16-year-old boy is accused of setting a fire at a vacant house in Laurel, Maryland, over the weekend.

On Saturday evening, Prince George's County firefighters responded to the 13700 block of Engleman Drive, where they found fire coming from the attached garage of a vacant two-story home.

They put out the fire shortly after their arrival.

Investigators determined the cause of the fire to be incendiary, and a 16-year-old boy was charged in the case Monday.

The teen is facing charges of first- and second-degree arson, reckless endangerment and trespassing.

If found guilty, he could be held in a juvenile facility until he turns 21.
