    A man was shot and killed in a busy District Heights parking lot Monday evening, touching off the 15th homicide investigation of the year in Prince George's County. (Published Tuesday, Jan 25, 2011)

    While the pace has slowed, the homicide number continues to climb in Prince George's County.

    Police said Mckinney Antonio White, Jr., 34, of the 6800 block of Atwood Street, was shot and killed inside a parked car at about 5 p.m. Monday in District Heights, Md. It was the 15th homicide in the county this year.

    Police said a person with a gun approached the vehicle, which was parked at the Penn Station Shopping Center on Silver Hill Road, and began shooting into it.

    White died at the scene.

    Police said they had no immediate suspects or motives.
