14-Year-Old Charged With Attempted Rape

Police in Anne Arundel County made an arrest in connection with an attempted sexual assault in Crofton.

The suspect is a 14-year-old boy.

On Nov. 28, police received the report of a sexual assault at Arundel High School.  A female student told responding officers that she had been attacked in the school's bathroom.  The alleged attack happened while school was in session.

After an investigation, detectives from the Criminal Investigation division went to the 14-year-old suspect's home in Odenton.

The teen was charged with attempted second-degree rape, second-degree sex assault, and a second-degree sex offense.  The teenager was served with a juvenile citation and released to a relative.
