Rush hour Wednesday morning was particularly painful for many area commuters.
A miles-long traffic back up on I-95 this morning was prompted by three early morning traffic accidents that began around 5 a.m. on I-395, said News4's Danella Sealock.
The accidents on I-395 have caused a back up on I-95, which was compounded by three additional fender benders.
Around 9 a.m. Sealock said, traffic was slowly clearing up for commuters heading north, but was still severe for commuters south of Springfield.
