Teens Challenge Proposed Curfew in Mongtomery County

Dozens of students turned out to protest a proposed curfew in Montgomery County.

The students held signs saying “Save My Rights – Oppose the Curfew” to Wednesday night’s County Council meeting in Rockville.

The proposed curfew, which was introduced by County Executive Isiah Leggett, would require teens 17 and under to be off the street by midnight on weekends and 11 p.m. on weekdays.

Police said they measure would help them protect teens and prevent youth crime.

The County Council could vote on the issue as early as next month.
