13 Injured, Including 4 Children, in Sandy Spring, Md. Crash

Four children were injured -- two of them seriously -- in a four-vehicle crash that hurt 13 people in Montgomery County Friday afternoon.

Seven of the victims, including the children, were sent to hospitals. The two children with the most severe injuries were sent via medical helicopter, according to Pete Piringer with Mongtomery County Fire and Rescue.

All injuries were non-life threatening.

The crash, which was reported at the intersection of Norwood Road and Excaliber Lane around 3 p.m., involved a minivan, an SUV and two cars, according to video shot by Chopper4.

Police are urging parents of students at Sandy Spring Friends School to pick up their children at Adventure Park through Layhill Road.
