A 12-year-old boy was stabbed when he was attacked by three men Thursday evening.

The victim was walking with friends near the shopping area in the 6200 block of Seven Corners Center before 7 p.m. when the three men, believed to be in their 20s, approached him and assaulted him for no apparent, Fairfax County police said. The boy was stabbed several times.

Police have no motive for the attack. No words were exchanged between the boy and the attackers, the boy was not robbed, and he had no relationship to the men.

“We have to wonder: Who might they attack next?” Officer Bud Walker said.

The boy was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening upper body injuries.
