12-Year-Old Boy Shot Inside NW D.C. House

Police said a 12-year-old boy was struck when shots were fired into a house in northwest Washington Saturday night.

Metropolitan police said several shots were fired into a house in the 4600 block of 9th Street NW.

The boy, who lives across town and was visiting, was sitting on a couch in the living room scrolling through Netflix for a movie to watch when the shots were fired. He told News4's Pat Collins he ran toward the kitchen in the back of the house but was hit in the right thigh.

The bullet went through, breaking a bone in his leg, but he is expected to be OK.
