A University of Maryland student is the latest victim in a string of homicides in Prince George's County.

The appears Prince George's County's homicide streak will continue, as a 22-year-old University of Maryland student was shot to death Tuesday morning in the College Park area of the county.

That makes it 11 homicides in the county in 11 days.

The latest incident, which police said was drug related, happened just before 11:30 a.m. in the 8800 block of 38th Avenue near Metzerott Road.  The shooting happened in a rented home near the UMD campus. The male victim was targeted, police said.

On Monday, one man died and another was injured after being stabbed in Adelphi, Md., according to Prince George’s County Police.

The two victims were walking on a sidewalk near the Shoppers Food Warehouse in Adelphi when they were attacked, police said.

Police said the four suspects in the stabbings fled on foot and may be gang members.
