One person was found dead in an overturned car in an icy pond in Prince George's County, Maryland, officials said.
A 2003 Honda Accord and the body of 29-year-old Ibrahim Sow of Bowie were found in a retention pond along eastbound Route 50 at the exit ramp to Route 197 just after 8 a.m. Saturday, according to Maryland State Police.
It's unclear when the crash happened, Prince George's County Fire/EMS Department spokesman Mark Brady said. Officials do not yet know whether icy roads may have caused the crash. Driver impairment may have been a factor, state police said.
Traffic was only able to pass on the shoulder of the ramp while state police conducted a detailed crash reconstruction.
