The Coast Guard said that one of the men contacted them at around 10:15 p.m. to report the collision and the injuries to both men. The man was able to moor the boat at a marina on Tangier Island, Va., where he was met by Accomack County EMTs.

A Coast Guard boatcrew transported the 37-year-old man to Crisfield, Md., where he was taken to McCready Memorial Hospital. The other man was pronounced dead.
