1 Dead After Pair of Shootings in NW DC

One man was killed and two others were injured in a pair of shootings that happened just 10 minutes apart in Northwest Washington. 

The first shooting happened at 10:04 p.m. Wednesday, just one block from the Mt. Vernon Square Metro station.

When officers arrived, they found a man who has been shot in the head. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. 

A second man was also injured in the shooting, but he is expected to be OK. 

About 10 minutes later, someone inside a home on the 900 block of Crittenden Street NW called 911 after a man was shot. 

Police say the victim was shot in his right shoulder. The injury is not life-threatening. 

Police have not released suspect information in either case.
