A man was killed and a woman suffered serious injuries after their ATV overturned on a Bowie trail early Monday morning.
Officers were called to the area of the Washington Baltimore and Annapolis Trail off Race Track Road after someone reported hearing screams at 2:41 a.m. When officers arrived, they found the overturned ATV and the victims.
Brandon Barnes, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deandra Jones, 25, of Lanham, Maryland was taken to an area shock trauma center with severe head trauma. She is in grave condition.
Maryland-National Capital Park Police are investigating the crash.
Motorized vehicles are prohibited on the trail, according to signs in the area.
