3 People Hurt in Ambulance Crash in Northeast DC

An ambulance carrying a passenger crashed with a car Friday afternoon in Northeast D.C., injuring three people, officials say.

The ambulance and dark-colored compact car crashed at 17th and K streets NE. The 911 call was received about 4:50 p.m., representatives for D.C. police and D.C. Fire and EMS said.

A firefighter, a passenger in the ambulance and a passenger in the car were hurt, officials said.

Information on the cause of the crash or the severity of the victims' injuries was not immediately available.

Traffic in the area was still delayed at 6:15 p.m.
