A woman got off one Metrobus in Northeast Monday night only to be struck by another Metrobus headed in the same direction, according to police.
Stephanie Richardson, 47, was pronounced dead at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday at Washington Hospital Center.
The incident happened at about 6:30 p.m. Monday at the corner of Montello Avenue and Mount Olivet Road in northeast Washington. According to Metro, the woman was a passenger on another bus. She got off the bus and walked in front of it to cross the street, when a second bus hit her.
The driver of the second bus has been placed on routine administrative leave while the incident is investigated.
