Howard County police are investigating the slashing of dozens of tires in Columbia, where approximately 50 residents woke up to find their tires slashed.

The vandalism occured sometime between midnight and 6 a.m. on the roads in the Clemens Crossing neighborhood of Hickory Ridge, including Blue Arrow Court, Eclipse Way, Fair Oaks, Quarter Staff Road and White Washer Way, according to police. Most of the cars were parked on the street.

Police said they believe this is an isolated incident and that it was done by youngsters familiar with the neighborhood. They are offering a reward of up to $300 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest of a suspect.

Police are encouraging anyone with information to call 410-313-3700. Callers may remain anonymous.
