DUMFRIES, Va. -- A 60-year-old woman and her 2-year-old grandson were killed Friday morning in a crash with a suspected drunken driver, according to Prince William County police.

William John Mallory was charged with driving under the influence. The 26-year-old had been at a Jimmy Buffett concert at Nissan Pavilion before he rear-ended a Saturn Ion carrying four people in Manassas, pushing the car about 100 yards into some boulders in a field near an FBI building, police said.

Rebecca L. Sacra, 60, and her grandson, Jonathan Wade-Ortiz, died in the crash. The boy's 43-year-old mother, who was driving, was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. Her 12-year-old nephew was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Mallory had three passengers in his Ford Explorer. One suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Just having returned from a funeral for another young man today, my heart breaks for those who's lives have forever altered. Over the years the crowds are getting younger, wilder and it is unbelievable how many you see staggering out to DRIVE home. A few years back my husband and I gave a couple a ride because they were so drunk (we didn't know these people, but I drove one vehicle and my husband drove the other) I lost my son at 20 yrs old in an accident with an "impaired" driver and I feel the pain this mother is in..It truely never goes away and it truely never gets better.
