Death Investigation:
Montgomery County Police Detectives are investigating a suspicious death in Damascus. Just after 6 p.m. Monday police were called to an apartment on the 9800 block of Bethesda Church Rd. Inside they found the body of an adult male. No other details have been released.
Kidnapper and Sex Assault Supect Sought:
D.C. Police are looking for a man they say kidnapped and sexually assaulted a woman at gunpoint. The woman was forced at gunpoint into the assailant's car in the 1600 block of Maryland Avenue, NE.
He then drove her to Prince George's County where he attempted to take money from her bank account. He then drove her to a wooded area and assaulted her. He is described as a black male, approximately 23 years of age, 5’6” - 5’7” in height, weighing approximately 120 pounds, medium complexion, goatee, and Mohawk hair style. He was last seen wearing a blue Trek jacket with “
Puerto Rico ” written on the front in white letters and blue jeans with white designs on the back pocket.
New Snow Plow Strategy:
In an effort to save salt, the county's Office of Highway Operations has decided to pre-treat rural roads with salt immediately before a big storm is likely to come. Plow drivers will be able to focus on the busiest roads during the beginning of a storm. Then, when they go back to the less-traveled roads, the snow should be easier to clear. The salt prevents the snow from bonding to the road, said Mike Ramsburg, maintenance section supervisor. (FrederickNewsPost.com)
Manassas Home on Holiday Lights Tour:
In December, it’s hard to miss the Wambold family’s house. The town house, at 10218 Magnolia Grove Drive in Manassas, has the biggest Christmas light display in the neighborhood. James Wambold said he’s still putting the finishing touches on this year’s Christmas display, but he estimates that there are already 20,000 lights adorning the front, side and back of the house.
