Supreme Court Justice Summoned for Jury Duty

Not even Supreme Court justices are exempt from jury duty.

The Supreme Court confirmed Justice Elena Kagan reported for duty at D.C. Superior Court Thursday morning.

NBC News Justice Correspondent Pete Williams said jurors who recognized her took pictures with their cellphones.

ABC News reported she sat quietly, reading through what appeared to be a legal brief while making handwritten notes in the margin.

Kagan spent a little less than six hours in the waiting room. She was not called and released a little before 2:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
