At least one shot was fired overnight at a Coast Guard recruiting office near Potomac Mills Mall in Prince William County, according to police. The shooting appears to be the latest in a series of incidents targeting military locations in the area.
The latest shooting happened sometime overnight at the recruiting center located at Potomac Mills Circle in Woodbridge, Va. Employees found evidence when they arrived at work Tuesday morning, police said.
No injuries were reported.
In this instance, police said there was a "marking" on a window and that the glass did not actually break.
"I can tell you that the glass was not broken," Prince William County Police spokeswoman Kim Chinn said. "It has been damaged. I don't know how many shots have been fired."
Law enforcement officials, including the FBI, are investigating. It was not immediately known if this incident is related to several other shootings at military establishments in that area. All four of those previous shootings have been linked, police said Tuesday.
Two shooting incidents were reported at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Triangle, Va. Another shooting incident was reported at the Pentagon. One other shooting incident was reported at a Marine recruiting center in Chantilly, Va.
Investigators said last week they believe the person doing the shooting has some type of issue with the Marine Corps and they are working under the assumption that he is or was a member of the Marines.
"We'd like to know what his grievance is and how we can try to resolve it," said John Perren of the FBI. "We'd like to hear his side of the story."

However, this latest shooting at a Coast Guard facility may put that theory about the Marines in doubt.
