The University of the District of Columbia has offered to take over D.C.’s Southeastern University, according to the Washington Examiner.

Officials from both schools met about a month ago and discussed the possibility of UDC absorbing Southeastern and Southeastern's board will meet Wednesday to discuss UDC's offer, the paper reported.

Southeastern announced last year it was interested in a merger.
