Police are looking for two men who called a 99-year-old woman to do an in-home survey and then attacked her inside her Silver Spring apartment.

The suspects, who were waiting right outside the victim's apartment Friday afternoon, phoned the woman in her home in the 10100 block of McKenney Avenue and asked her to come to the door to complete the survey.  Then they pushed her inside, forced her down into a chair, rummaged through her bedroom and took cash and identification cards from her, said Montgomery County police, who said that they believe the woman was targeted and are warning other elderly residents to beware of unexpected visitors.

"If you're not expecting someone to come to your door, you can't be certain who that person is.  Just don't open the door," said Lucille Baur, a spokeswoman Montgomery County Police Department.

The woman, who is 16 days shy of turning 100, was not physically injured, but she was traumatized and had to be hospitalized overnight, officials told News4.  The woman is expected to be OK.
