Man Struck by Bicycle in Northwest Alley Dies

D.C. Police are investigating a hit and run that has turned fatal.

Quan Chu, 78, of northwest Washington died Tuesday after a hit-and-run accident on Nov. 26 that left him in critical condition.

Chu and his wife, also in her 70s, were struck at about 10 a.m. by a bicyclist as they walked in the south alley of the 600 block of Massachusetts Avenue NW. Chu fell, and his head hit the ground. He hand his wife were transported to a local hospital.

The bicyclist fled the scene.

The bicyclist was described by police as an Hispanic male with black hair.  He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and was possibly riding a BMX-style bike. He was last seen traveling south on I Street NW.
