Despite the criticism she's garnered locally, D.C. schools Chancellor Michelle Rhee has created quite the profile for herself on the national level. Not unlike Adrian Fenty in that respect.

Case in point: The journal Education Next this month ran a laudatory profile of Rhee, which runs with the headline "D.C.'s Braveheart" and features a graphic of Rhee in a suit of armor, posing with honor as the sun catches her suit. It's a little fawning. Just a bit.

Of course, it's not the first time Rhee's been give the heroic treatment by a publication: Last year Time stuck her on the cover holding a broom in a classroom next to the headline "How to Fix America's Schools."

Only a matter of time until Newsweek does her up as a Jedi knight.

As those who've seen "Braveheart" know, William Wallace was eventually executed for treason, so perhaps Rhee might better appreciate an analogy to an epic character who manages to survive their ordeal.
