Former D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty's got a new gig. He will be joining a Philadelphia consulting firm as an outside advisor and counsel.
According to a press release from the Heffler, Radetich & Saitta LLP accounting and consulting firm, Fenty will "help further develop and enhance" the firm's class action litigation support services and work on health care industry consulting and forensic accounting services.
Fenty seems to be keeping himself quite busy after handing over the reigns of the city to Mayor Vincent Gray earlier this month. He signed on with a New York-based group, Greater Talent Network, as a public speaker just two days after Gray's inauguration.
We're guessing he's going to be paid substantially more than the $200,000 he made as D.C. mayor. Which is excellent news for him and his family.
But perhaps the best thing about the new Fenty job? We get to read more heaps of praise for the former mayor as his new employer gushes over his time in office.

It goes on to say Fenty "gained a reputation for efficient, honest and dynamic leadership," as he "worked successfully to improve the schools, brought the crime rate in the city down substantially, and pushed through civil rights legislation, culminating in legalizing same-sex marriage in the District of Columbia with the bill he signed in December 2009. He also oversaw successful initiatives to expand affordable housing in the District, and to expand health care coverage for the uninsured."
Heck, Fenty even gets caught up in the praise-fest in the press release:
"My work as mayor gave me first-hand exposure to what was and is possible in evolution and growth of services and business, despite government's complex bureaucracy," Fenty said. "I had extensive dealings with the business community in all my government roles. Like Ed, I am confident I can use my experience to find and develop new business opportunities for Heffler, Radetich & Saitta and to help serve our clients across all their fields of endeavor."
Whew. That's a lot of praise. It almost sounds like Fenty survived more than one term... In any case, best of luck to our former mayor in his new position.
