VDOT's warning is clear: Stay away from parts of the Beltway this weekend.
Crews will narrow the Inner Loop of the Capital Beltway South to a single lane just went of Telegraph Road this weekend while emergency repairs are made to an overpass. The closures begin at 9 p.m. Friday through Monday at 5 a.m.
The right two lanes of the Capital Beltway/I-95 South will be closed as well as Telegraph Road on-ramps to the Inner Loop.
V-DOT says the lane closures could create up to 90-minute delays.
The weekend ramp closures and detours are as follows:
- Telegraph Road South on-ramp to the Inner Loop (I-95/495 South).
- Detour: From southbound Telegraph Road, take Mill Road to right on Eisenhower Avenue to left on the Eisenhower Avenue Connector to the on-ramp to the Inner Loop.
- Telegraph Road North on-ramp to the Inner Loop (I-95/495 South).
- Detour: From northbound Telegraph Road, take Pershing Avenue to right on Stovall Street to right on Eisenhower Avenue to left on the Eisenhower Avenue Connector to the on-ramp to the Inner Loop.
