Eldery Woman Dies in DC House Fire

Firefighters find body inside burning home

Firefighters put out a fire, then found an elderly woman's body inside the home in Northeast Washington.

Fire officials say the flames broke out in the kitchen of a home in the 200 block of 34th Street NE Friday evening.

Firefighters found the body of the woman inside, but officials say she did not appear to be burned.

The medical examiner will determine the exact cause of death.
